OPENING OF RADIAL GATES OF IRANAMADU TANK – KILINOCHCHI
Due to continuous rainfall, water level of Iranamadu Tank has increased up to 30 feet on 21 Dec 2014 and the corresponding capacity from 7800 Ac ft to 84375 Ac ft.
The maximum water level that could be stored is in the range of 30 – 31 feet due to bad condition of the embankment.
Therefore Irrigation Department of Kilinochchi Range had opened the Radial Gates on 22 Dec 2014.
Comd SF HQ (KLN), Government officials and Deputy Director of Irrigation Kilinochchi Range were attended for this occasion.
