NEWLY APPOINTED THE COMD OF THE ARMY VISIT TO SF (KLN)
Lieutenant General A W J C De Silva RWP USP ndu psc visited Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi on 19 March 2015. Commander, SF (KLN) warmly welcomed The Comd of the Army at the Iranamadu helipad and reviewed the Guard Tournout and the salute in the Guard of Honour, presented by 9 SLE and subsequently planted a tree in memory of his first field visit to SF (KLN). GOCs, Bde Comds, Snr Offrs, Offrs and Other Ranks attended for the event.\r\n\r\nCommander, SF (KLN) conducted a comprehensive briefing in related to current situation in the SF (KLN) AOR and GOC 66 Div also briefed on FTX during the meeting. Later Commander of the Army addressed approx 1200 troops at Nelum Piyasa and subsequently 220 Offrs at auditorium SF (KLN).\r\n\r\nDuring the visit Reconciliation and Community Development programme were organized at Nelum Piyasa on the theme of \"Upholding reconciliation in the society\". On the intention of uplifting the living standard of civilians 100 sawing machine were given away to the civilians and 18 Bicycle\'s and school items were distributed among under privileged children in Kilinochchi area (School items donated by \"City Star\" Sri Lankan Cricket Club from United Arab Emirate).\r\n\r\nLieutenant General A W J C De Silva RWP USP ndu psc, Maj Gen Sudantha Ranasinghe Commander Security Forces (Kilinochchi), GA (Kilinochchi), Senior Officers, State Officers Director and the staff of Alliance Development Trust, Chairman of Rotary Club - Jaffna & East, Mr S. K. Nadan, Mr. Jude Fernando, Civilians and Students attended this Occasion.\r\n\r\nThe later part of Comd visit \"Harmony Volleyball Court Complex\" was declared open to uphold the skill of volleyball and beach volleyball to military and civilians. \r\n\r\nAt the end of first field visit Comd SF (KLN) presented a memento to the Commander of the Army.\r\n
