The newly constructed MT yard, a ‘Tea Shop’ for all Ranks and the vehicle ramp at SLEME sect in Headquarters, 65 Division were declared open by Major General DMHD Bandara RWP RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding 65 Division.
The series of events unfolded after the General Officer Commanding ceremonially cut the ribbon at the entrance to the MT yard at 1000 hr on 04 August 2020. Then the GOC unveiled a plaque and planted a sapling besides the yard in commemoration of the event. The 100 X 35 Sq Ft MT yard which has the capacity to accommodate all the vehicles belong to Headquarters 65 Division. The programme continued as the General Officer Commanding declared open the ‘Tea Shop’ and the vehicle ramp at the SLEME field workshop subsequently. The programme was also followed up by an all Ranks Tea.
The construction of these much awaited requirements was initiated under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding - 65 Division. All the materials utilized for the constructions were made available through local resources, whilst the man power was contributed by all the Officers and other Ranks of 65 Division. GE Office - 65 Division and SLEME Field Work shop - 65 Division continued to provide their professional technical assistance in making the effort a success.
