20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the SFHQ-Kilinochchi, on the directions of the Commander Security Forces, Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe erected a new house for a needy family in Mukkompon, Kilinochchi and vested them on 17 July 2021.

The community project, aimed at promoting gestures of reconciliation, goodwill and harmony was completed by 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops with the support of private donors,under supervision of Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Chaminda Kumara. In addition to their construction expertise, the same 20 SLLI troops were generous enough to buy a stock of essential provisions and household items for family, Mr. Udayasooriyan, Mukkompon, Kilinochchi who are living in abject poverty with family members.

In keeping with Hindu traditions, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi as the Chief Guest, together with Divisional Secretary Poonaryn, General Officer Commanding of 66 Infantry Division Major General Ajith Dissanayake, Commander 662 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Chaminda Liyanage, Other Ranks who accomplished the project unveiled plaques and vested them in the beneficiaries adhering all Covid-19 preventive measures.
