On invitation of Security Force Commander Kilinochchi Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe and with the mediation of MP Namal Rajapaksha a softball Cricket match was played between Kilinochchi softball Cricket team and a softball Cricket team from Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi on 6 April 2014 at Kilinochchi Central College grounds. Kilinochchi Cricket team scored 45 runs in their alloted 10 overs having won the toss and electing to bat first. In reply Security Force Headquarters team only managed to score 43 runs in their 10 overs. U Ruban of Kilinochchi Cricket team adjuged the man of the match. Victorius Kilinochchi Cricket team received Rs 25000.00 in cash and a Trophy where Security Force Headquarters team recived Rs 15000.00 in cash and a trophy. The Chief of Civil Security Department Rear Admiral Ananda Pieris, Kilinochchi SLFP Organiser Mrs Geethanjali Naguleshwaran, the President of Kilnochchi Sadasarana Society Mr. Anton Surin and Kilinochchi Cricket loving community witnessed also the Cricket match.
