The Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Harendra Ranasinghe directed to conduct an enormous donation programme on 09 April 2021 to uplift the living standard of the needy people in Kilinochchi area and sponsorships provided by various philanthropists.
To make success this event main sponsorship provided by Mr Naveen Perera and his family in response to a request made by the Commander Security Force Kilinochchi. Other than that, various donors of Mr Deepan, Mr Ishara Liyanage, Mr K Sangeev Kumar, Mr P Lal De Silva, Mrs LHR De Silva, Mrs P Leena De Silva and Mr Sanjeewa Rukshan contributed to the project in various capacities. The programme mainly focused on 250 needy people living in the entire Kilinochchi area. Dry Ration Pack cost over Rs: 7200.00 and school accessories packs each worth over Rs: 1500.00 for children were distributed during the programme. Each pack contained Red rice-5 Kg, Flour - 5 Kg, Dhal (Watana) - 2 Kg, Dhal (Mysoor) - 2 Kg, Soya Meat -1 Kg, Sugar - 2 Kg, Tea Leaves - 1 Kg, Milk Powder - 1 Kg, Salmon (large) - 01, Noodles packets, Cowpea - 1 Kg, Chick pea - 2 Kg, Tooth Paste, Tooth Brushes and Soaps.
This programme focused on identified families who were undergoing hardships due to loss of their livelihood means and the imposition of Covid-19 restrictions as well as offering a motive to upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival.
Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Saman Liyanage, Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier Deepal Hathurusinghe, Senior Staff Officers, Officers and other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters together with main donor Mr Naveen Perera were joined with this programme, After visiting doorsteps of those recipients with adhering to all Covid-19 preventive measures.
Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs of SFHQ KLN Lieutenant Colonel Lal Kithsiri and all Officers in SFHQ KLN provided fullest support to coordinate with donors and to make the event a success.
