KNOWLEDGE ON LIVESTOCK ENHANCED AMONG KILINOCHCHI CIVILIANS

With the objective of assisting to improve the economic growth of low-income families in Kilinochchi and suburbs, the 57 Division Headquarters, under the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi, assembled a group of 30 cattle farmers to attend to a lecture session on Livestock and Cattle Rearing, organized at Kilinochchi Utility Centre on 23 October 2018.

14 Sri Lanka National Guard troops under command to the 572 Brigade invited Dr Gamini Wickramarathna and Professor Ananda Kumara at Faculty of Agriculture in the University of Jaffna to enlighten the civilians, engaged in livestock and cattle farming. Lectures also touched on possibilities of adopting thrifty measures to improve their sources of income in a more productive manner and how they could get cattle at very low price through the Department of Livestock and Agriculture.

This event was organized with the direction of the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya and under the supervision of Commander, 572 Brigade, Colonel Janaka Ranasinghe.
