9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the SFHQ-Kilinochchi, on the directions of the Commander Security Forces, Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe erected new house for needy family in Civic Centre, Kilinochchi and vested them on 12 July 2021.
The community project, aimed at promoting gestures of reconciliation, goodwill and harmony was completed by 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops under supervision of Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel Lalith Epa . In addition to their construction expertise, the same 9 SLSR troops were generous enough to buy a stock of essential provisions and household items for family, Mr. Rasayya Rajeshwaram, Hospital Road, Civic Centre who are living in abject poverty with family members.
In keeping with Hindu traditions, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi as the Chief Guest, together with Divisional Secretary Karachchi and Kandawalei, General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, Commander 571 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Dammika Welagedara Commander 573 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Manoj Madurpperuma, Other Ranks who accomplished the project unveiled plaques and vested them in the beneficiaries adhering all Covid-19 preventive measures.
During the programme, Divisional Secretary Karachchi delivered the special vote of thank. In that, he appreciate Army troops which take maximum preventive measures to avoid illegal activities in Kilinochchi area other than the CIMIC activities done for uplift the livelihood of Kilinochchi people.
