KILINOCHCHI TROOPS AVERT ONE MORE DISASTER BY RENOVATING A TANK BUND SPLIT

Quick reaction team of 17 (V) SLLI under 65 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi prevented a major disaster taking timely action to repair a leaking on the Karambukulam tank bund, with the support of civilians who got together and plastered a split on 06 December 2019.

This timely action was launched on the instruction of Major General GV Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi and the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General KAW Kumarapperuma USP and under the close supervision of Commander 653 Brigade, Colonel LAJLB Udowita RWP RSP, more than 20 Military troops of the 17 (V) SLLI troops of 653 Brigade renovated by taking action as per their contingency plan.

Civilians in Therankandal area voluntarily joined the military troops until the job was completed and the initiatives taken by Army personnel were highly appreciated by the civilians in the area.
