Troops in Kilinochchi initiated rescue, search and relief operations, being conducted in flood-affected areas are continuing although flood threats are fast dwindling, in some areas recording to latest reports, reaching here.
On the instructions of the Commander Security Force Kilinochchi, Major General Ralph Nugera, troops are engaged in multifarious projects in close cooperation with state authorities and other agencies.
Troops of 57 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi, in liaison with Sunshine Food Company at Jaffna on the directions of the General Officer Commanding of the 57 Division, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, troops supported the distribution of relief meal parcels include with rice, sugar, dhal, tin fish, noodles, biscuit packets, tea, samaposha, flour and other daily needs to the victims in Rathnapuram, Barathipuram, Ponnagar, Indupuram, Uriyan and Korakkankaddu on 28 December 2018.
800 families received those essentials during the arrangement organized by 57 Division.
