KILINOCHCHI SCHOOL CHILDREN PRIORITIZED TO GIFT SCHOOL ITEMS AND SPORT ITEMS
65 Division of Security Forces (Kilinochchi), further expanding its programme of helping the children in 65 Division area. A large stock of school items and sport items were distributed among 312 students at Thewampiddi Government Tamil Mixed School on 10 November 2017, in a simple ceremony with the aim to uplift the education level of the children in the area.\r\n\r\nThis donation programme was initiated under the direct supervision of General Officer Commanding- 65 Division, Major General Sarath Weerawardhan RSP USP IG and the donation was sponsored by officials of production section – Sri Lanka Insurance as their personnel donation. The worth of the donated items was Rs 300,000.00.\r\n\r\nMajor General Sarath Weerawardhan RSP USP IG, General Officer Commanding- 65 Division was graced the ceremony as chief guest. The programme at Thewampiddi School was organized by troops of 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. Commander of 651 Brigade, Brigadier K M R Abesinghe RSP USP and Mr. Ravi Mendis – Public Coordinator Officer, Sri Lanka Insurance and several representatives of Sri Lanka Insurance, Rev.Fr. Arun Kumarun of Thevanpiddi Church, Mrs S. Pathmadasan, Principal, Thevanpiddi Roman Catholic School and parents of the school children participated for the event\r\n
