The closing ceremony of the annual District Sports meet - 2019 of Kilinochchi District that amply indicated the physical robustness, energetic power and the stability of minds of all Athleets in the District took place on 11 June 2019 at the Vaddakachchi central college play ground in Kilinochchi with the participation of Government officials and people of all walk in the area.
The district athletic meet, an important feature in the sport calendar of the District Secretariate Kilinochchi was an atractive event where young athleets from Divisional Secretariats Karachchi, Kandawalei, Poonerin and Pachcheipalei took part in track and field events and shown their potentials to the spectators gatherd to witness the event.
The overall championship was awarded to Karachchi Divisional Secretariat while Kandawalei Division Secretariat became the runners-up. According to the results, Karachchi Divisional Secretariats athletes scored 1256 points against 1163 marks of their counterparts in the Kandawalei Division Secretariat.
Kilinochchi District Secretariat and its Divisional Secretariats organized the year’s sports meet in a grand level with tight security arrangements made under guidence of the commander security forces Kilinochchi, Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG.
The District Secretary of - Kilinochchi, Divisional Secretaries of Karachchi, Kandawalei, Poonerin and pachcheipalei, 216 athletes (mens / womens), Senior Police Officers, Officers and a large number of sports lovers were present during the finale in the District Sport Festival Kilinochchi - 2019.
