KILINOCHCHI COMMANDER MAKES FORMAL VISITS TO 57 AND 65 DIVISIONS

Commander Security Forces Killinochchi, Major General KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG made his maiden official visit to 57 Division followed by 65 Division, including their under command brigades on 28 and 29 July 2020.

On arrival at 57 Division at the first day, Commander Security Forces Killinochchi was received by the General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Major General DGS Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu, and was honoured with a Guard Turnout on the arrival.

Then General Officer Commanding, 57 Division ushered him to plant a sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory before the all rank tea. After that, a brief presentation on administrative, operational and logistic aspects of the Division conducted by the GOC 57 Division. Subsequently, Commander Security Force Kilinochchi posed for group photographs with the Staff of 57 Division.

As the next step, he visited the 572, 571 and 573 Brigade Headquarters. During the brigade visits, Brigade Commanders presented brief outline on the operational aspects of their troops.

In the next day of the visit, in line with the traditions and customs in the army, he was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding of 65 Division, Major General DMHD Bandara RWP RSP USP.

Later, he paid his thorough attention to the comprehensive briefing presented by the General Officer Commanding of 65 Division and Brigade Commanders of 651, 652 and 653 Brigades in relevance to the operational and administrative tasks carried out by the Division. Then he visited 651, 652, 653 Brigades and the 65 Division Battalion Training School at Mulankavil.

Commander Security Force addressed the troops in each Division Headquarters and emphasised the importance of performing the assigned duties with dedication and commitment, and promotion of their professional skills through constant training as soldiers.

The visiting Commander planted saplings as a symbol and left his signature in visitors’ books to mark his visits to the places. All Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and their Staff Officers were presented during the day’s event.
