A record gathering of more than 5000 religious dignitaries, Tri-service and Police personnel, school students, state officials and civilians in an exceptional gesture of solidarity and understanding on Friday (18) evening enjoyed the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN)-organized popular 'Kandula' musical interaction under the 'Daham Pahana' of Brother Charles Thomas.
Lieutenant General L H S C Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of the Army during his first visit to the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) after taking over his new office was the Chief Guest for the occasion.
The programme focuses on promotion of human values, ethics, virtues and bringing of all ethnic communities together through his vision which could in turn develop a society with a spiritually-empowered nation where all people believe in love.
This entertaining programme of novel nature, designed to promote peace and ethnic harmony was performed at the SFHQ-KLN for the first time on the invitation of Major General GV Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi (SF-KLN).
The self-claimed philanthropist, Brother Charles Thomas, who strongly believes in brotherhood, spiritual advancement and human values of people that could be tapped and stimulated through musical interpretations for creation of a better human society, has won admiration and appreciation of internet surfers and the common folk alike after he launched this exclusive project, 'Kandula', in which he selects most popular hits of singers and explains the true meaning of those lyrics in simple terms, describing the message the specific songs wanted to convey for betterment of human values and morality.
