The 66 Infantry Division Under the Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi staged a Mega Musical Extravaganza ‘Pooneryn Musical Night’ and a K-9 show at Pooneryn Fort Premises on 21 June 2019 evening. The event aimed at reconciliation process in the area as expected by the Commander of the Army and guided by Commander Security Forces Killinochchi, Maj Gen G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG.
At the invitation of the General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Brigadier M D Wijesundara RSP, Maj Gen K A W Kumarapperuma USP General Officer Commanding 66 Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Senior Officers and Officers. Religious dignitaries, Government officials and police officers also Participated as invitees.
The event commenced with the K9 show of Sri Lanka Army Commando K9 Unit and stunned the spectators with their outstanding performances. Enthralling performances of ‘SapthaRanga’ dancing group, Melodies of Music of civil Security Department Beat Group and local Artist, Darshani (Shakthi Superstar) thrilled the audience while the Fireworks Display astonished them.
With this novelty concept to the area, the event recorded the highest gathering of an event organized by Army in Pooneryn which counted more than 1000 civilians. Further this event marked the best entertainment event for the civil community after a long period. Gathering extended their applaud with great satisfaction.
