JOHN KEELLS CONDUCTED HIV AND AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN TO TROOPS IN SECURITY FORCES - KILINOCHCHI

With the intention of combating the spread of HIV and AIDS and ensure that its status in Sri Lanka remains ‘low prevalent’, The John Keells HIV and AIDS Awareness Campaign through education and access to correct information of troops who are serving under Security Forces Kilinochchi Flag was held on 16 and 17 March 2017 at Security Forces Headquarters are of responsible.\r\n\r\nIn response to a request of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, a team of representatives of John Keels Charity Foundation of John Keels Private Limited conducted the lecture session to keep soldiers informed.\r\n\r\nAwareness programme of 65 Division and 66 Division were held on 16 March 2017 and 65 Division programme was held at Mullankavil Battalion Training School and more than 500 troops were participated to be educated. Meanwhile, awareness programme of 66 Division was held at Arsapurakulam Training School and 450 troops were attended to the awareness programme.\r\n\r\nOn 17 March 2017 in the morning hours, HIV and AIDS awareness programme for troops of Security Forces Headquarters (Kilinochchi) was held at Nelumpiyasa Auditorium with the participation of more than 500 troops. At the same place, at evening hours, the same programme was commenced and were attended more than 650 troops from 57 Division.\r\n\r\nAt the end of the Sessions Brigadier Jagath Rathnayaka RWP RSP USP - Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces Headquarters offered a memento to team of representatives of John Keels Charity Foundation. Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Senior Officers, Officers and approximately 2000 troops participated to the said awareness sessions in the Area of Security Forces – Kilinochchi.\r\n
