His Excellency the president Mahinda Rajapaksa made a visit to Kilinochchi District on 12 Oct 2014 with the intention of attending series of opening ceremonies, distribution of land permits and donations.
The President gave away cheques worth of Rs. 100 milion to 1250 personnel displaced in North Province in the ceremony organized at Nalum Piyasa Iranamadu and at the ceremony of Kilinochchi Central Collage ground, land deeds and grants were offered to 20,000 settlers in state lands in Northern Province.
The President declared opened two Mahindodaya Technological laboratories at Kilinochchi Hindu College and Waddakachchi Maha Vidyalaya to facilitate the students to have exposure to information technology.
In the evening, newly built hospital complex at Akkarayankulam Division Hospital and District Secretariat Complex were declared opened by the president and held a meeting at newly opened District Secretariat Complex followed with tea. Comd SF (KLN) offered a momentum to the president in memory of his visit to Kilinochchi.
