GREENED PLAYGROUND OPEN IN SFHQ-KLN

With the objective of providing more facilities and enhancing sporting abilities of all ranks serving at the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi, retroversion of barren land to a greened ground and renovation of pavilion at Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi premises were carried out as per the concept of Commander Security Force Kilinochchi, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda.

The pavilion and the ground were declared open by the Commander Security Force Kilinochchi, on a colourful note on 30 January 2021. The new playground was constructed in accordance with high standards with the assistance of 11 Corps of Engineer Services and labour contribution of the troops in all Battalions under the Security Force.

An Exhibition cricket match was played among two teams to mark the inaugural playing event. Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Saman Liyanage, Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier Deepal Hathurusinghe, other Senior Staff Officers, all officers and other ranks of the Security Force Headquarters were present at the event.
