GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 57 DIVISION VISITS TO 571 AND 574 BRIGADES
Brigadier Jagath Gunawardana RSP USP ndu psc General Officer Commanding - 57 Division marked his first official visit to the 571 Brigade Headquarters on Sunday (16) as a formality of his duties. The visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by 571 Brigade Commander Colonel KTADS Kolambathanthri RWP RSP USP psc IG with the Commanding Officers from under command battalions of 571 Brigade. In accordance with military formalities, a Guard Turnout of the troops of the 9th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment saluted the General Officer Commanding 57 Division in the premises. The Brigade commander updated new General Officer Commanding on the role and responsibilities of the 571 Brigade AOR.\r\n\r\nhereafter, Main Kitchen and Ration stores complex was declared open for the benefit of the troops of 571 Brigade by General Officer Commanding - 57 Division. The visiting Commander was invited to plant a mango sapling at the Headquarter premises to mark his visit and addressed the Officers and Other Ranks of 571 Brigade. Before his departure, General Officer Commanding 57 Division placed his signature in the Visitors’ Book as a symbol of memory.\r\n\r\nOn 18 Apr 2017 New General Officer Commanding - 57 Division marked his first official visit to the 574 Brigade Headquarters. General Officer Commanding - 57 Division was warmly welcomed by the Colonel NC Somaweera RWP RSP USP Brigade Commander 574 Brigade. General Officer Commanding was honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by 3rd Battalion the Gajaba Regiment (GR). The Welfare - shopping complex, which provides the facilities to both military and civilians, was declared open by the General Officer Commanding - 57 Division during the visit. \r\n
