Under the guidance of Brigadier AS Hewawitharana RSP USP ndc IG the General Officer Commanding 57 Division, and under the supervision of Commanders of 572 Brigade and 573 Brigade, 1st Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment made arrangements to organize a musical evening for civilians at Paranthan area, on 15 June 2019 at the Bus Stand - Paranthan Junction, with the objective of providing relaxation to the public and re-instilling the confidence about the security arrangements in them. In that, civilians were facilitated to enjoy Sinhala, Tamil and Hindi songs played by the 1 SLSR beat band “The Green Jackets” for 2 hours commencing from 1900 hour. Few civilians also were given the opportunity to sing their favorite songs with the band. The Paranthan Trade Association also extended their hands to make the event a success and the Policemen from Kilinochchi Station provided assistance in ensuring the security for the event. Around 600 civilians witnessed the musical evening.
