Troops of the 66 Division and under command formations conducted a programme of donating essential commodity packs for 100 low-income families in the 66 Division AOR was held on 09 April 2021. This programme conducted In line with the mega donation programme conducted by the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi As per the initiative taken by the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Harendra Ranasinghe.
GOC 66 Division, all Brigade Commanders, COs and all Senior Officers were actively contributed to finding donors to distribute these essential commodity packs to the doorsteps of selected families in 66 Div AOR, as celebrating the upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New Year.
Major General Ajith Dissanayake Commander 66 Division presented for the event which was held in the areas of Nagathawnthurei, Mukkampon, Kiranchi and Wallaipadu areas. Comd 662 Bde, Comd 663 Bde, CO 24 VIR, CO 2SLNG and 2IC 20 SLLI were also accompanied with GOC 66 Div for the said programme.
The programme was funded by respective donors and each essential commodity pack (worth Rs 7200.00) contained Red rice-5kg, Flour-5kg, Dhal (Watana)-2kg, Dhal (Mysoor)-2kg, Soya Meat-1kg, Sugar-2kg, Tea Leaves-1kg, Milk Powder-1kg, Salmon (large)-01, Cowpea-1kg, Chick pea-2kg, Tooth Paste (70g)-01, Tooth Brush-02, Soap (bathing)-01, Soap (washing)-01.
