DECLARED OPENING OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED LECTURE HALL AND ACCOMMODATION BUILDING FOR ESCORT TROOPS AT HEADQUARTERS 66 INFANTRY DIVISION

A newly constructed lecture hall with multimedia, sound system, stage lighting system and seating capacity of 300 personnel was declared open for the troops of 66 Division on 27 Sep 2018. This was a long-felt need for the 66 Infantry Division.

Brigadier Deepthi Jayathilake, General Officer Commanding - 66 Division graced the event as the Chief Guest for the inauguration ceremony of the new Lecture Hall and he was warmly welcomed on arrival by the Staff Officers, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers of 66 Division. Thereafter Chief Guest unveiled the customary plaque to mark the occasion. Later General Officer Commanding - 66 Division and other invitees joined in lighting the traditional oil lamp. Then to remark the event a sapling was planted by GOC in front of the new Lecture Hall.

Thereafter he unveiled the plaque of newly built Accommodation building in order to hand over to the troops. Both buildings were constructed under the directions of the General Officer Commanding - 66 Division, Brigadier Deepthi Jayathilake. Technical assistance was provided by 11 ESR troops and workforce was provided by the troops belong to the Division HQ. Finally their commitment & dedication was highly appraised by the GOC during the event.
