CULTIVATIONS OF 661 INFANTRY BRIGADE IN SUPPORT OF SRI LANKA ARMY CONTRIBUTION FOR THE NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 66 Infantry Division and Commander 661 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 661 Brigade have made an enormous effort to cultivate 12 Acres of land, including Paddy, Sweet Potato, Green Chilli, Yard Long Bean, Corn, Brinjal, Water Melon and Banana in support of Sri Lanka Army contribution for the national agricultural development plan. The harvest is to sell under a very concession rate to the local population of the Pooneryn area in order to increase their living standard.

Meantime, during the enforcement of curfew for curbing outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, troops delivered over 100 packs of fresh fruits and vegetables to low-income families in the area at their doorstep.
