Direction given by the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, to initiate mega social service projects to relieving poverty and economically empower the war-affected and low income population, Commander Security Force Kilinochchi Major General Harendra Ranasinghe instructed under command formations to promote livelihood support programmes, which seek to develop small, medium and micro-enterprises in the Kilinochchi area. Hence, troops of 20 (V) VIR initiated to implement micro income generation project (“Murrukku” bites production) for a low-income family in Anavilandankulam village.
Commander Security Force Kilinochchi visited to inspect the construction of the project site, on 28 April 2021 and had a close discussion with civilians who are working on it. In that commander encourage their effort and emphasis that, Security Forces will provide maximum support to develop the project in every possible ways.
Colonel General Staff 66 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer of 20 (V) VIR and Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs of SFHQ KLN participated to the visit.
