COASTAL CLEAN - UP DAY IN KILINOCHCHI UNDER THEME OF \"A SUPER BEACH FOR SRI LANKA\"
Coastal Clean - up Day is dedicated to the improvement of beaches, coastal regions and surrounding areas throughout the world. It purports to be the largest volunteer event in the world, and has operated for over 26 years. Civilians, Tri Forces and Police, Civil Security members in kilinochchi area also took part in the clean up coastal area of Kilinochchi in line with International Coastal Clean – up Day which falls on 19 September 2015.\r\n\r\n Approximately Thousand members attended this social work for cover the coastal belt of Vallaipadu, Sheddiyakuruchchi, Pallai, Karakathivu, Pallikuda, Gautharimunai, Alankerni, Kollakarachchi Sangupiddy,Wettakadu, Nallur,Urathipuram in Kilinochchi.\r\n\r\n Government Agent Kilinochchi, Assistant Government Agent - Poonaryn, Civil Affairs Officer - 661 Brigade, Officers from Navy, Headquarter Inspector of Poonaryn Police, Staff of Marine Environment Protection Authority and Grama seva Niladari , State Officers attended this programme. \r\n
