A CHRISTMAS LUNCH AND DISTRIBUTING OF SCHOOL STATIONARIES AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT FOR THE CHILDREN OF MAHADEVA SWAMIKAL CHILDREN HOME

Meeting with the concept outspoken by Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG, the Commander Security Force Kilinochchi, with the directions of Major General B P S de Silva RSP, the General Officer Commanding - 57 Division, a programme for assisting the needy children at Mahadeva Swamikal Children Home at Kilinochchi was organized on 18 December 2019 in collaboration with the ‘Manusath Derana’ Community Service Project by Derana Media Network. moreover, gift packs of school accessories, school bags and pairs of school shoes were distributed among the children which were provided by the Manusath Derana community service. Simultaneously, Manusath Derana officials distributed sports equipment for the children. The participants were entertained by the performances of the children and the beat group of the 7th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry. Further, all the children were offered with a delicious lunch which was arranged by 57 Division. Under command troops of 57 Division extended their fullest commitment to make the event in success. Commander 572 Brigade Colonel D M P P Dasanayake participated as the Chief Guest along with Commander 571 Brigade. Colonel General Staff, Colonel Admin Quartering of 57 Division, Civil Affairs Officers and Commanding Officers graced the event. Contribution of the Team Manusath Derana paved the way to the success of this great charity programme to enhance the sports and education skills of the pupils. And also the military personals in Kilinochchi always supported and encourage the students to uplift their extracurricular activities toward excellent in them lives.
