BEACH CLEANING PROGRAM IN POONARYN

Coincide with “National Marine Resource Week", abeach cleaning program was conducted in Gautharimunai coastal line at Poonaryn in Kilinochchi District at 0730 hrs on 21 September 2020.

General Officer Commanding 66 Infantry Division Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commander 661 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Shantha Hewage RWP RSP USP psc, Civil Affairs Officers, Commanding Officers and 70 more Army troops and 70 Navy troops have given their contribution for the said event.

The event was organized by the Marine Environment Protection Authority of the Ministry of Mahawali Development and Environment. The senior government officials including GA Kilinochchi District Mrs R Ketheeswaran, DS Poonakary division Mr S Crishenendren, and large number of civilians have also extended their hand by cooperating with the Army and Navy troops to make this event successful.
