With the view of uplifting health and to educate the general public and military personnel in Kilinochchi District, 5 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps had launched a programme, related to the World Aids on 04 December 2015 with the assistance of RDHS – Kilinochchi, National STD/AIDS control programme of Health Ministry. \r\n\r\nThis programme conducted in two sessions. The morning session was conducted to the civilians in kilinochchi area and more than hundreds of civilians attended this programme. 400 Officers and Other Ranks of Army, Navy, Air Force and Police who were serving in the Kilinochchi area attended the session two which was conducted in the same day evening. The awareness programme was conducted by Dr. Sathya Herath a Consultant Community Physician of National STD/AIDS Control Programme in Sri Lanka.\r\n\r\nIn addition to that 9th Field Engineers Regiment was conducted Demining lecture for civilians to educate about unexploded explosives on the same day. Acting General Officer Commanding 57 Division attended as the Chief Guest for this event and many civil representatives from the field of health and Officers from Tri services and Police were participated for the event.\r\n
