ASSUMING OF DUTIES AS GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING - 57 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General GRRP Jayawardana RWP RSP ndu assumed duties as the 15th General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division under the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi, amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the Headquarters 57 Infantry Division on 22 February 2021.

The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters and honoured in a Guard Turnout and a colorful parade presented by the troops of 9 SLSR. Later on, Major General Priyantha Jayawardana placed his signature on an official document to mark his assuming of duties, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of Senior Officers. Accordance with the tradition, he planted a sapling for mark the event.

Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the Headquarters 57 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers and other ranks were present on the occasion.
