With the seasonal compliments as well as with objective of promoting religious reconciliation among all communities in the Kilinochchi area, Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi together with 57 Division organized the annual Christmas Carols Service was held on 20 December 2017 as a colorful and glorious evening at the “Nelumpiyasa” Auditorium with guidance of Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc and supervision of Major General Jagath Gunawardhana, General Officer Commanding – 57 Division.\r\n\r\nVery Rev FR. P J Jebarathnam the Vicar General of the Jaffna Diocese and Very Rev FR. Victor Sosai the Vicar General of the Mannar Diocese graced this harmonies evening as the chief guests accompanied by Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi and representatives all religions. Commencing the Christmas Carols Evening, team of the Baptist Church at Barathipuram presented a welcome dance and following the event Rev Father Vignashwaran read the Gospel in tri languages. Very Rev FR. P J Jebarathnam the Vicar General of the Jaffna Diocese read out the Christmas message reminding the gathering of the true meaning of Christmas.\r\n\r\nAdding festive atmosphere to the occasion, the Christmas Carols sang in Sinhala, Tamil and English language as a symbol of peace and harmony. Together with several choirs including the Choir of Security Forces Kilinochchi, most celebrated melodies sang as praise and appreciation of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Baptist Church – Barathipuram Chorale, choir of CSI at St Pauls Church – Murukkandi, Chorale of Gospel Kingdom Ministry of Selvanagar, Chorale of St Anthony’s Church –Valaipadu Choir of Anglican Church Kilinochchi, Choir of St Theresa Church Kilinochchi, St Anthoney’s Church Pallikuda, contributed their voice to add melody and rhythmic variation to the occasion.\r\n\r\nFinally, symbolizing peaceful Christmas Carols evening in the Security Force Kilinochchi area, all the choirs gathered as a one team named “Harmony” combined chorale presented the “Feliz Navidad” and “Harmony Christmas Song”. \r\n\r\nAt the conclusion of the Christmas Carols evening, distributed school bags for 150 kids which was donated by the Rotary Club - Negombo and choirs of Christmas Carols and dinner was arranged for all participants. Termination of the event was followed by a speech of Counselor General of Indian High Commissioner Office – Jaffna Hon Mr. A Nadaraja. \r\n\r\nAnnual Christmas Carols Evening was organized by troops of all Brigades of 57 Division under the superviosn of Colonel Ajith Kolambathantri - Commander 571 Brigade, Colonel Lal Wijethunga - Commander 572 Brigade, Colonel Janaka Ranasinghe - Commander 573 Brigade and Colonel Chandana Somaweera - Commander 574 Brigade with the guidance of Major General Jagath Gunawardhana, General Officer Commanding – 57 Division.\r\n\r\n
