661 INFANTRY BRIGADE DONATED SCHOOL ITEMS FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES IN POONARY

The initiative and guidance of General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Major General M D Wijesundara RSP and with the supervision of Commander 661 Brigade, Colonel HHKSS Hewage RWP RSP USP psc, troops of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 5 Mechanized Infantry Regiment serving under the 661 Infantry Brigade organized a donation programme on 3 January 2020 at Vinasiyodei Government Tamil Mix School and Gnanimadam Government Tamil Mix School.

Commander, 661 Infantry Brigade graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with Senior Officers, Officers. Total numbers of 178 students from grade 1 to grade 13 of Vinasiyodei Government Tamil Mix School and Gnanimadam Government Tamil Mix School were donated with the all necessities for their education and it was included with school bags, shoes and all the stationaries.

Civil Affairs Officer of SFHQ (KLN), Commanding Officer of 24 VIR Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
