Major General DMAP Dissanayake RWP RSP USP ndu IG assumed duties as the 8th General Officer Commanding of 66 Infantry Division under Security Force (Killinochchi), amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the Headquarters 66 Infantry Division in Poonaryn on 16 January 2021.
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of 66 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division Headquarters and honoured in a Guard Turnout and a colorful parade presented by the troops of 66 Division. Later on, Major General Ajith Dissanayake placed his signature on an official document to mark his assuming of duties, amidst chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ in the presence of Senior Officers. Accordance with the tradition, he planted a sapling followed up with the all ranks tea. Major General Ajith Dissanayake, prior to this new appointment served as the Brigadier General Staff at Security Force Headquarters (Kilinochchi).
Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the Headquarters 66 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers and other ranks were present on the occasion.
