66 INFANTRY DIVISION TROOPS DISTRIBUTES KITCHEN UTENSILS AND SHOES FOR NEEDY FAMILIES AND CHILDREN IN POONERYN

Expanding the multiplicity of community-oriented welfare role, 66 Infantry Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi volunteered to offer 600 pairs of Shoes and Kitchen Utensil to needy families on 16 February 2019.

The event, sponsored by Mr. Aravindan Vije the director of ‘Foundation for hope of California’ was initiated under the directions of Brigadier Mangala Wijesundara, General Officer Commanding - 66 Infantry Division. The event was held at four different places such as Sri Vigneshwara College organized by 661 Brigade, Paranthan Tamil M.V organized by 1st Gajaba Regiment, Mukkampon G.T.M.S organized by 20th Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion and Jeyapuram M.V organized by Headquarters 663 Brigade. Selection of the recipients is done based on low income families students.

General Officer Commanding - 66 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Brigade commanders of 661, 662 and 663 Brigades and Commanding Officers of under command Battalions attended the event. Mr. Gamini Wanasinghe attended the event representing Foundation for hope of California. Senior Officers, Officers, School Teachers, donors and families of the beneficiaries participated for the programme.
