An awareness program to prevent from COVID -19, was successfully launched for the general public live in entire POONERYN area from 07th November to 13th November 2020, by the 66 Infantry Division under the direction of General officer Commanding Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku. This much needed program was conducted in line with the concept of the Commander of the Army and with the guidance of Commander Security Force Kilinochchi, Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda, by using mobile audio visual technology by displaying all best practices/ health safety measures that are to be followed by all the citizen of this country to prevent from been infected with COVID -19.
All activities of the program were conducted by adhering to the COVID -19 preventive health measures. A mobile LED screen and PA system also were used to cover every remote village in the AOR, giving opportunity to every villager to get the message, while being at their doorstep. Mobile LED panel and PA system were sponsored by the NESTLE Lanka pvt ltd, under their CSR project while providing two packs of Maggie noodles to every participants. Over total of 13000 noodles packs were distributed making the needy people happier in the AOR .
The GOC 66 Infantry Division, Commanders of 661,662,663 Infantry Brigades and all Battalion Commanders also participated for this event.
