The outgoing General Officer Commanding of 66 Infantry Division, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku was saluted in accordance with military traditions during a formal farewell, held at the Headquarters 66 Infantry Division (Pooneryn) premises on on 14 Jan 2021.
A Guard Turnout, a Guard of Honour and all ranks tea party were organized to the outgoing GOC in accordance with military traditions to mark the relinquishment of his appointment. The outgoing GOS addressed the troops of 66 Division and thanked everyone for the generous assistance and support extended to him during his tenure. He also left memories by group photos and followed by opening of a new Guard Room and a renovated cafeteria at Elephant Pass.
The event culminated by the farewell dinner with the participation of respective Brigade Commanders and all offices where his invaluable service was appreciated by presenting a memento.
