Series of events were organized to mark Army Day and 65th anniversary of Sri Lanka Army which falls on 10 Oct 2014, on the directions of Comd SF (KLN).
Commencing the day’s programme, flag was hoisted in the morning at SFHQ (KLN) premises and Comd visited and gave away the gift parcels to inmates at MDS Kilinochchi.
As the next event of the programme, scholarships and stationery were distributed among the students of low - income families. 10 scholarships worth of Rs 700 for 10 students, 100 stationery parcels for 100 students, 100 sarees for their mothers and 50 shalwars for widows were given away at the function and measurements 25 disabled persons were taken to provide artificial limbs.
This event was organized with the patronage of Indian Rotary Club. GOC 66 Div, Bde Comds of 662 and 663 Bdes attended for this event. Large crowd of students and parents of this area were present.
