The awarding ceremony of the annual Sports Festival of 65 Division in the year 2019 was held at headquarters 65 Division play ground on 04 January 2020. The event was graced by Maj Gen KAW Kumarapperuma USP, General Officer Commanding of 65 Division.
During the span of one year, eight teams representing HQ 65 Division, HQ 653 Bde, 10 SLLI, 19 SLLI, 17(V) SLLI, 11(V) GR, 20(V) VIR and 7 SLNG competed in seven games, namely Cricket, Volleyball, Foot Ball, Basketball, Elle, Badminton and Tug of War.
10th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 653 Brigade emerged as the Best Sports Battalion by securing the championships in Cricket, Tug of war and by being the runners up in Badminton, Elle and Basketball. 10 SLLI had gained a total of 95 marks, whilst 11(V) GR and 20(V) VIR equally placed Runners up by obtaining a total of 65 each.
