With the guidance of The Commander Security Forces Killinochchi, Major General KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG and a view of operationalizing the concepts of Major General DGS Senarath Yapa RWP RSP the General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division, a meeting with the officials of Disaster Management Centre and related authorities in Kilinochchi District, was conducted on 19 August 2020 at the Headquarters of 571 Infantry Brigade. The discussion has been structured with the aim of overview the progress of preparation processes for the upcoming flood situation related to the North East monsoon season. In that, General Officer Commanding emphasized the significance of implementing the proactive mitigation measures while discussing the progress of the field projects and works. Further, the field commanders of 57 Infantry Division were given the opportunity to discuss the practical problematical areas of their Area of responsibility when engaging in disaster mitigation and relief operations. At the same time, the discussion was further extended to discuss the control the illegal activities of the people which carries a greater impact for enhance the affection of the disasters such as illegal sand mining and timber cuttings.
The General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi, Commander 572 Infantry Brigade, , Colonel General Staff and staff officers of 57 Infantry Division, Battalion Commanders and field commanders of 57 Infantry Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Kilinochchi, the Director of Disaster Management Centre Kilinochchi, District Agrarian Commissioner Kilinochchi, Assistance Irrigation Engineer Kilinochchi, GNs and other government officials were attended for the discussion.
