57 DIVISION WAS CONDUCTED THE SECOND WORKSHOP TO DEVELOP THE ANALYTICAL THINKING AND COMPETENCY OF THE MIDDLE GRADE OFFICERS

In a view of redefining the concept of operation and crafting new approaches to accomplish the desired missions, the second workshop to develop the analytical thinking and competency of the middle grade officers was conducted by 57 Division on 07 Aug 2020 at the HQ of 573 Brigade with the participation of the Officers of 571 Brigade, 573 Brigade, 7 SLLI, 1 SLSR, 3 GR and 9 VIR battalions, with the guidance and inspirations of Major General DGS Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of 57 Division.

As per the new concepts outspoken by the GOC 57 Division the workshop was conducted in lining with the way forward strategy of Sri Lanka Army 2020-2025. It was aimed to develop the analytical thinking competency of the middle grade officers of under command brigades and battalions and the ability of working out a sound action plan in brigade level to operationalize the way forward strategy of 57 Division.

The staff officers from 571 and 573 Brigade Headquarters, and the officers from 7 SLLI, 1 SLSR, 3 GR and 9 VIR who engage with the decision making processes in the battalion level with Commanding Officers, participated for the workshop. Subsequently, Commander 571 Brigade, Brigadier DKSK Dolage USP psc conducted a lecture on the theoretical aspects of the way forward strategy of the army, methods of deriving the mission oriented tasks conceptualization/operationalization and SWOT analysis. During the lecture Comd 571 Brigade highlighted and well briefed about the vision and the core values of the Commander of the Army. The participant Officers were given the brainstorming session to derive sound, practical action plans for the battalion.

The General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Commanders 571,572,573 Brigades, and staff officers of 57 Division attended the occasion.
