57 DIVISION TROOPS OBSERVE \"VESAK SISILA\" WITH KILINOCHCHI PEOPLE
The day of the full moon of May is called \"Vesak\". On the Vesak Day, Buddhists around the world remember and reflect on the birth of Lord Buddha, his enlightenment and Parinirvana . 572 and 574 Brigades, 8 and 12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, 4 and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard under 57 Division organized Bodi Pooja Pinkam and Dansala at their respective areas on 03 May 2015 with the participation of the civil community in Kilinochchi area to celebrate the Vesak Day.\r\n 572 Brigade, 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard conducted Dansala by distributing biscuits and refreshments and on the same day 574 Brigade opened a Vesak Rice Dansala at Mankulam. The large gathering of civilians participated and they enjoyed the generosity offered by the troops on focusing Vesak Day.\r\n Meanwhile, 574 Brigade ,12 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 4 Sri Lanka National Guard conducted Bodi Pooja Pinkama at their respective headquarters to invoke blessings on fallen war heroes and serving army personnel. Including Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended these religious activities.\r\n
