In parallel to the ‘Wanaropa’ National Tree Planting campaign, the 57 Division troops launched a tree planting programme on 23 November 2017 at the area under command to the 57 Division.\r\n \r\nThe programme was organized by 574 Brigade, according to the instructions of Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP USP ndc psc - General Officer Commanding 57 Division. During this tree planting programme, troops plant 100 x Mara and 100 x Kumbuk saplings covering a 2 KM stretch Mankulam and 2 KM stretch in Thirumurukkandi along the A – 9 road.\r\n\r\nGeneral Officer Commanding – 57 Division planted a sapling to mark the inauguration of the said event. Commanders of 572 & 574 Briagdes, Asst Divisional Secretary – Oddusudan, Deputy Forest Officer – Northern Province, state officials and senior military officers attended for the event.\r\n
