20th BATTALION GAJABA REGIMENT TEAM SECURE THE INTER BATTALION 20/20 CRICKET TROPHY IN KILINOCHCHI
The annual Inter Battalion 20/20 Cricket Tournament of the Security Forces Kilinochchi which was organized by the 651 Brigade concluded on 26 April 2015 at Mankulam ground.\r\n\r\nTotal of 34 teams from Sri Lanka Army and 08 teams from Civil Clubs took part in the tournament which was held from 17th March to 26th April. In the final encounter between 18th and 20th Battalions of the Gajaba Regiment teams, the 20th Battalion Gajaba Regiment team scoring highest beat rival to emerged as champions in the tournament.\r\n\r\nLance Corporal Devabandanage of the 20GR team was adjudged best batsmen and man of the match and Major Samaranayake of the 18 (V) GR team was adjudged best bowler of the tournament.\r\n\r\nMinnoli Sport Club - Mankulam and Youth Club - Paranthan played for the finals in the civilian clubs where Minnoli Sport Club - Mankulam emerged as Champions. S.Anbalagum of the winner team was adjudged the man of the match in civil teams.\r\n \r\nMajor General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The trophies and certificates were given away by the Chief Guest to the winning and runners up teams both Army and Civil matches. General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Rankers and large gathering of Civilians attended the event.\r\n
