20 (V) VIR cricketers snatched the 20 - 20 Soft Ball Cricket Trophy - 2019, organized for affiliated battalions on the directions of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi.
The final match was played in the SFHQ-KLN cricket ground on 20 September 2019 and witnessed by a large number of cricket fans and distinguished guests, including Commander, Security Forces HQ– Kilinochchi, Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
34 cricket teams representing all Divisions, Brigades and Battalions, deployed in the SFHQ-KLN area of responsibility competed in the tournament. Out of all the teams 8 SLA and 20 (V) VIR team became qualified for the finals. During the final match, 20 (V) VIR won the trophy by 15 runs. Both teams were awarded trophies and certificates during the awarding ceremony. CO 9 SLSC and his officers and men organized the tournament.
General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the event.
