HISTORY
9th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was raised on 19th January 1993 at Ambepussa Camp. Maj D R A B Jayathilaka was appointed as the first Commanding officer. Battalion was contributed to main operations such as operation Forward Leap, operation Thunder strike, operation Riviresa, Jayasikuru and both Northern and Eastern Humanitarian operations etc. 22 x 728 Offrs/Ors sacrificed their lives during past war.
