57 DIVISION ORGANIZED ‘DHARMA SHAKTHI POOJA’ VESAK ZONE

As per the direction given by the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 57 Division, Brigadier A S Hewawitharana RSP USP ndc IG, 57 Division in collaboration with Jathika Urumayan Surakeeme Mahasammelanaya organized ‘Dharma Shakthi Pooja’ Vesak Zone at Dharamapuram public ground on 19th and 20th May 2019 from 1800 onwards. This magnificent event comprised with series of religious and cultural events including Vesak Lanterns, Vesak Thorana, Dansal, Vesak Bhakthi Gee programme, an Art competition and Dathu wandanava programme. Further, 150 children of Vishvamadhu area who took part at Art competition were given Rs.1000 worth savings accounts opened of the Peoples Bank Kilinochchi.

Commander Security Force Kilinochchi graced the occasion as the chief guest alone with the General Officer Commanding of 57 Division and the Commanders of 571, 572 and 573 Brigades and Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also participated at the event. The chief incumbent of the Darmadutha Maha Viharaya - Anuradhapuraya Ven. Aluthhalmilleve Sirivimala Thero and the Convener of Jathika Urumayan Surakeeme Mahasammelanaya Deshabandu Mr. Janaka Bodhinanda Gunathilaka also participated at the ceremony. It was observed that around 5000 civilian gathered to witness the Vesak Zone during couple of days.

Brigades of 57 Division and affiliated battalions contributed their maximum effort to facilitate organize a common platform for the people in the area to witness a successful celebrations of Vesak which paved the way to enhance the religious reconciliation.
