The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment has directly contributed to the brutal terrorist war that lasted for almost three decades and defeated the terrorists. In this regard, 159 officers and 3582 other ranks of the regiment sacrificed their lives for the motherland and a significant numbers of officers and other ranks have become permanently disabled.
