SRI LANKA LIGHT INFANTRY HOSTED A FORMAL MESS NIGHT TO BID FAREWELL FOR RETIRED AND RETIRING SENIOR OFFICERS

The Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Light Infantry hosted a formal Mess Night on 22 April 2025 at the Officers’ Mess with the participation of the Commander Security Forces Jaffna and the Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major General YABM Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Officers and their spouses of Light Infantry family to bid farewell to Major General VDS Perera, Brigadier MGANB Mahathuwakkara RWP RSP ndc, Brigadier ACJ Wasage, Brigadier HVA Somaweera RWP RSP USP, Brigadier SWR Prasanna RWP RSP USP and Brigadier JKRP Jayasinghe RWP RSP USP.

During the Mess Night the Colonel of the Regiment appreciated the tremendous service of the retied and retiring Officers and also presented mementoes to appreciate thei great service to the Sri Lanka Light Infantry and to the whole nation.

The event served as both an appreciation of service and a gesture of profound gratitude for decades of leadership, sacrifice and commitment to the Sri Lanka Army. The ceremony was steeped in military tradition and rich in regimental pride, reflecting the values and heritage of Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
