Under the guidance of the Quater Master General and Colonel of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc and under the supervision of the chairperson of the SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs. Vajira Perera a housing project has been commenced on 06 July 2024.
In this programme 11 war heroes were given financial assistance from SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch and labor assistance from respective Battalions. As a first stage newly constructed house of S/326035 cpl Sumathipala S was declared open by 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry Commanding Officer and Senior Member of SLLI Seva Vanitha Branch.
Officers and other Ranks of the 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry participated in the occasion.
