The Sri Lanka Light Infantry Association is currently the oldest military association of the Sri Lanka Army which was Founded on 17 December 1945 under the leadership of Sir General John Kothalawala. It was held with the participation of a large number of members.
Established with the primary objective of supporting the advancement and development of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry as well as carrying out the welfare of the retired members, the Infantry Association has become the largest and strongest retired association among the retired associations established in the Sri Lanka Army at present.
On this day, a new board of officers was appointed for the Infantry Association, in which General RMD Ratnayake (retd) WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc senior officer was elected as the Honorary President. The senior officers of the Sri Lanka Infantry Regiment as well as the oldest infantry members representing various regions participated in this ceremony. Under the supervision of Regimental Center Commandant Colonel MPSP Kulasekera WWV RWP RSP Senior Officer, this anniversary event was organized.
