The farewell tribute offered to 60th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and 14th Col of the Regt Sri Lanka Light Infantry Maj Gen Jagath Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu on 25 November 2022 on his retirement at the Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
At first, guard turnout and a guard of honour was held according to the programme of the day. It was such a significant milestone in the history of the SLLI to re-designate the 3 SLLI during the guard of honour by awarding new 3 SLLI flag to its’ Commanding Officer Lt Col HBT Priyankara SLLI in order to symbolize the same. Thereafter, Maj Gen Jagath Kodithuwakku declared open the newly constructed “White Hackle” library. The senior officer has delivered a valuable speech for all ranks who were presented there after the group photograph.
After taking over office as the Col of the Regt on 21 April 2021, Maj Gen Jagath Kodithuwakku has rendered a remarkable service to his own Regmt. The under mentioned projects were completed under his guidance and direction:
Finally, a Mess Night was hosted to the Senior Officer with the participation of senior offrs/ offrs and their spouses. Maj Gen Jagath Kodithuwakku was awarded a memento by Maj Gen CD Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu in order to appreciate his dedicated and remarkable service of more than 36 years.
The gala ceremony was organized under the direction of Maj Gen CD Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu and the guidance of Centre Commandant Col Sujith Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP. All senior members of Regmtl council, senior officers, officers, RSM and other ranks participated for the series of events.
